She pivoted to biotechnology, combining her background in fermentation science with a passion to make healthcare more affordable and accessible.
What began in a garage in 1978 eventually grew into Biocon, one of India’s largest biopharmaceutical companies, known for its affordable insulin and pioneering work in cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune treatments.
